Duties
- Direct and execute projects including staff assignments, engineering analysis, and report preparation
- Oversee field exploration and construction observation
- Write and review proposals and reports, and ensure that commitments to clients are met
- Participate in proposal presentations
- Responsible for mentoring and training junior staff, and assist in business development, recruitment, and hiring
- Work closely with group members to foster teamwork at all levels of the company.
Requirements
- B.S. in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related field, MS preferred.
- Registered/licensed engineer or geologist.
- 9 years or more years of experience preferred.
- Proficient with computers and software
- Excellent understanding and knowledge of geotechnical engineering, geology, and related disciplines.
- Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent ability to facilitate teamwork.
- Proficiency in project management
- The individual will be expected to be a leader, and set an example consistent with Fugro’s standards.
- Monitor and manage group utilization to meet annual goals.
- Monitor and manage to minimize write offs.
- Be a well-rounded engineer or geologist, able to provide creative and practical solutions to meet the client’s needs.
- Excellent problem solving skills: ability to resolve both technical and personnel issues relevant to the job.
- The individual is expected to have excellent interpersonal skills that include: the ability to work effectively with peers, subordinates, and superiors. Must have an excellent ability to communicate in a professional manner, and seek a “win-win” solution.
- Possession of a valid California Driver's license, and an acceptable driving record.
