Duties

  • Direct and execute projects including staff assignments, engineering analysis and report preparation
  • Oversee field exploration and construction observation work.
  • Provide senior level review of proposals and reports, and ensure that commitments to clients are met.
  • Participate in proposal presentation.
  • Responsible for mentoring and training junior staff, and assist in business development, recruitment, and hiring.
  • Work closely with group members to foster teamwork at all levels of the company.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related field, M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
  • Registered/licensed engineer.
  • 9 years or more years of experience preferred.
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of geotechnical engineering and related disciplines.
  • Be a well-rounded engineer, able to provide creative and practical solutions to meet the client’s needs.
  • Excellent problem solving skills: ability to resolve both technical and personnel issues relevant to the job.
  • The individual will be expected to be a leader for the group, and set an example consistent with Fugro’s standards.
  • Proficiency in project management is required.
  • The individual is expected to have excellent interpersonal skills that include: the ability to work effectively with peers, subordinates, and superiors. Must have an excellent ability to communicate in a professional manner, and seek a “win-win” solution.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal.
  • Excellent ability to facilitate teamwork.
  • Computer literate in word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Support and encourage support for continuous improvement of the company's processes including, but not limited to, the Fugro West, Inc., safety program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Possession of a valid California Driver's license, and an acceptable driving record
  • Applicants must complete a pre-employment drug screen.
