Multibeam Surveys- Anchorage

Harbor Post-Dredge Condition Assessment and Entrance Channel Deepening, Anchorage, Alaska
Fugro conducted multibeam bathymetric surveys for the Port of Anchorage (and US ACOE Alaska District) to provide detailed seafloor investigations in the vicinity of the harbor and vessel dock and harbor entrance channel. The 5200' x 1000' port dock facility was surveyed using multibeam as a post-dredge, year-end condition assessment. The Port entrance channel (Cook Inlet) section (12,000' x 3500') was also surveyed to determine the extent of material to be removed in support of proposed channel deepening.

Water depth at the site was approximately 35 feet. Tide range at the site was approximately 35 feet, with tidal currents up to 8 knots.

Deliverables to the Port (and Corps Alaska District) included detailed multibeam bathymetry maps with contours, cross-sections, and 3-D models.
