Coggins Square Low-Income Housing Development, Pleasant Hill, California
Fugro has a long history of providing geotechnical and environmental engineering services to the low-income housing development community. The Coggins Square project posed unique challenges because of old stream channel deposits beneath portions of the site, which could liquefy during a large earthquake. By careful analysis of both the consequences of liquefaction and by a rational approach to communication of seismic risk to the structural engineer, lenders, City, and County, Fugro designed and gained approval of a safe and cost-effective project design.

In conjunction with the geotechnical investigation, Fugro also performed a Phase I and II environmental assessment as part of the property transfer.
