Background

For Client Combination Hollandse Meren, Fugro has performed geotechnical analyses for the Highway 44 viaduct. Moreover, Fugro staff have provided geotechnical engineering at locations Utrecht and Roelofarendsveen. Engineering works consisted of foundation recommendations for a settlement-free foundation and several crossings. Calculations for the settlement-free foundation and crossings consisted of vertical and horizontally loaded piles in particular. Settlement- and stability analyses have been performed for the embankments, where alternative fill methods (shorter waiting times, vertical drainage, lightweight fill materials) have been applied.
