Harbor Breakwater Multibeam Survey, Lanai Harbor, Hawaii
Fugro performed a multibeam and topographic survey of a failed breakwater at the Island of Lanai, Hawaii. Kaumalapau harbor and breakwater is the primary port on Lanai, and is maintained by the USACOE Hawaii. The breakwater failed after repeated storm activity, requiring detailed multibeam bathymetry for re-design and re-construction of the structure at the entrance to the harbor.

To supplement the detailed bathymetry, topside topographic data from the top of the existing breakwater structure was merged with the multibeam data. A full-structure model was then realized, and presented in 3-dimensional model format, in addition to contour and cross-sectional formats.
