Moss Landing Power Plant Expansion, Moss Landing, California
Fugro provided geotechnical, foundation engineering and construction services to Fluor Constructors International, Inc. for the expansion of the Moss Landing Power Plant. Two 530 megawatt, gas-fired, power plants are being constructed at the site. The new plants include gas turbine generators, steam generators with stacks, steam turbine generators, gas compressors, pipes, transformers, and takeoff towers. Fugro met the tight schedule of the project by performing a geotechnical investigation and providing design recommendations within one month.

Fugro provided geotechnical observation during site grading, foundation installation (1500 auger cast piles), and other geotechnical aspects of the project including lime treatment to construct foundation pads. When unanticipated conditions were encountered, Fugro provided timely geotechnical recommendations to resolve issues immediately and reduce potential impacts to the project schedule and budget.
