Naval Civil Engineering Laboratory BRAC Conversion, Port Hueneme
This project demonstrates Fugro's ability to assist in design and development of coastal industrial facilities. The 33-acre former Navy Civil Engineering Laboratory (NCEL) site that the Oxnard Harbor District (OHD) acquired as part of the BRAC process is slated for development of port-related industrial uses.

Working directly for the OHD, Fugro conducted the subsurface exploration and geotechnical study for the conversion of the NCEL site. For the project, Fugro developed a computerized GIS database of the site and subsurface data for the District's existing facilities and the adjacent NCEL site. Fugro also provided materials testing of the more than 25 acres of earthwork and pavement sections that were constructed to support the existing wharves.
