UDV North America, a major wine and spirits manufacturer, owns several properties occupied by wineries, distribution facilities, and vineyards in northern and central California. Fugro performed site and facility audits to bring the UDV facilities into regulatory compliance, by evaluating winery wastewater disposal basins and ponds, vineyard pesticide and hazardous materials storage buildings, and underground tanks.

Fugro was instrumental in reaching a consensus with the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board regarding the wastewater permit requirements for the Heublein Reedley Winery in Fresno County, California, which occupies property owned by UDV. The winery, which has been in operation since the 1890s, currently discharges process wastewater to an on-site discharge area. Fugro developed written specifications to assist the winery in complying with their permit requirements.
