City, County, Redevelopment Agency Projects- Ventura County Medical Center (VCMC)

Ventura County Medical Center Expansion, Ventura, California
In order to better meet the needs of a growing population, the County of Ventura has been actively expanding and upgrading the Ventura County Medical Center. The County's proposed new facilities on the Medical Center Campus included:

  • Mental Health In-Patient Unit;
  • Ambulatory Care Clinic;
  • Medical Examiner Facility;
  • Parking Structure;
  • Generator Building; and
  • Electrical Substation Structure

Fugro completed geotechnical and geotechnical engineering studies, site planning, and environmental documentation for the new facilities. A portion of the existing campus falls within the Alquist-Priolo special Studies Zone established by the State of California for the Ventura-Pitas Point fault. Each proposed structure had unique characteristics and specific geotechnical, geological, and planning requirements. Some facilities were determined to be critical facilities, and, as such, geotechnical reports for these facilities were reviewed by the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development. Environmental documentation included a water audit of the campus, an expanded Initial Study, and a focused Environmental Impact Report.
