Fugro performed the following services for various agricultural operations:

• Geologic hazards identification and mitigation
• Water storage unit evaluation and design
• Landslide stabilization
• Riverbank stabilization and levee analysis
• Foundation design for facilities, bridges, and pipelines

The current high demand for grapes and dwindling land resources means that grape growers are considering parcels that may have been overlooked in the past, for example, land on hillsides or within flood plains. Fugro identified geologic hazards, including landslides, faults, liquefaction, flooding, and erosion potential to help growers make informed decisions about their properties. Fugro developed creative mitigation solutions for landslides and other hazards to ensure that the property met stringent erosion protection standards.

Fugro also investigated, evaluated, and designed new water storage reservoirs, improvements to existing reservoirs, irrigation canals and pipelines, and stream and river levee improvements.

At wineries, Fugro performed a wide variety of geotechnical evaluations, including foundation designs for concrete and steel water tanks, conveyors, and other facilities, and bridge and pipe crossings over streams and creeks to handle heavy farm equipment.
