Overview
Fugro provides well siting, well design, construction bidding, construction monitoring, and production testing for municipal and private water wells and wellhead treatment systems. Wells are designed for single-well domestic or agricultural use and large-scale municipal systems that include multiple wells in complex operational and treatment systems.

Fugro assists clients in well siting studies, hydrogeologic studies, aquifer testing, mutual drawdown interference evaluations, and operational scheduling.

Well Design
Fugro's extensive experience in hydrogeology and well design is critical to successful well production. Perforation placement, perforation slot size, gravel pack gradation, casing design and installation, and gravel pack and cement seal placement are all custom designed for each well.

Construction Management
Fugro chemical engineers and hydrogeologists assist clients in evaluating contractor bids and managing well construction and testing. As the client representative, we oversee the well construction, documenting the as-built conditions, design the production testing program and make recommendations for the optimal well discharge rate and pump settings. We test and document well yield, specific capacity and pumping level variations, and water quality analysis. Monitoring of the new wells is accomplished using downhole pressure transducers connected to microprocessor data loggers, which Fugro maintains as part of its full inventory of well testing equipment.

Well Rehabilitation
Fugro has extensive experience in evaluating and determining the causes of diminished production or injection capacity in water wells. Assessments include specific capacity testing, water quality analysis, particulate filtering and analysis using electron-microscope analysis, video logging, and review of operational data. Using these data, Fugro investigates the cause of the problem and recommends solutions for restoring well capacity. Fugro has extensive experience in developing and implementing well rehabilitation programs, which include follow-up testing to evaluate the program effectiveness.

Regulatory Permitting and Reporting
Fugro's water well services are supported by our knowledge of the regulatory framework permits (RWQCB, NPDES, DOHS), which govern well development and rehabilitation.
